If you’ve been following me for awhile you know how much I love dried fruits. They are perfect for snacking, a pre-workout energy boost, and are especially great when the fresh versions are out of season. Today I want to talk about my new obsession, dried berries! These amazing and vibrant dried berries are filled with antioxidants, fiber, and vitamins.
These little guys have little to no fat and pack more fiber per gram than their fresh counterparts! We all know how great fiber is and how it works as a terrific metabolism booster, so load up on some dried berries! The densely packed punch of nutrition is also why dried berries are filled with vitamins like vitamin C and E as well as other micronutrients like iron, calcium, and beta-carotene. On top of all that, the antioxidants in dried fruits are like health gems neatly packed in delicious berry form.
So if you're trying to watch your waistline and need a nutritious and energy-packed snack, then dried berries are the way to go. My personal favorites are raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, and of course goji berries all of which I sprinkle heavily on top of my morning oatmeal or after workout yogurt bowl. I can go on and on about the amazing health benefits of my new favorite dried berries, but you should try them and see for yourself. Just be sure to get the ones that aren’t covered in sugar or oil. Enjoy!
Love,
Sona
